What does a school counselor do?
She provides services to all students. She uses data to address needs in academic, social, emotional and career areas. She helps students set goals and work on skills to reach their highest potential, allowing them to feel confident about their ability to succeed in all areas of life.
For students, we provide ...
- Individual brief counseling* (6-8 weeks)
- Small group counseling* (6-8 weeks)
- Classroom lessons
- Community resources for parents and students
* Individual and small group counseling happens only with parent consent.
Our counselor will see a child 1-2 times, if they ask or if a teacher makes a request. However, any more than the 1-2 requests, and I will reach out for permission to continue to talk with them.
